Hey, Hey it's that time of the day (or week, I should say), where I offer my list of selected articles, about random topics... Not all about books, not all about technology, just stuff I read and liked.  And before you think one of these articles is a hint about the future of this blog, no, I ain't calling it quits, I just found the article Why Bloggers Are Calling It Quits to be very interesting.  I too, pray that social media will mature, although I'm not holding my breath.   So sit back and enjoy some of these articles or your favourite book this weekend with your preferred choice of beverages.  Maybe you would like to try Sparkling Long Black.  Enjoy! 10 (Sci-Fi) Books You Pretend to Have Read (And Why You Should Really Read Them) 5 Completed Series to Read While You Wait for WINDS OF WINTER Major Publishers Might Revise eBook Pricing for Libraries How To Make Your Bookish LEGO Dreams Come True Why Bloggers Are Calling It Quits

Random Articles - RAW 150724

Welcome to the weekend, not sure about you, but this was a very long week for me, however according to the last article it should have flew by quickly for someone my age!  I started and finished listening to an audio book about Minecraft's business model and was impressed at how quickly I got through a non-fiction book, it normally takes me a lot longer to read. So I was interested to read the article My Job In 5 about the Commissioning Editor- Audio. I guess you all have heard the news about New Horizons probe reaching Pluto recently, I have, my 10 year old son has been talking about it and waiting for it to arrive for well over 5 years... He was so excited on the day it arrived we almost let him stay up to watch the live feed.  It looks like it will take many years to receive and go through all the data but the IO9 article about Pluto getting promoted is worth the read, for those interested. So sit back with your favourite beverage and enjoy!  I'm stickin...

Random Articles - RAW 150710

Welcome to the weekend.  This week we saw the 50th anniversary of the publishing of  Frank Herbert’ s Dune .  Since then the franchise has grown somewhat, with all the spin offs, prequels and sequels.  I'm may be in the minority, but I enjoyed Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson's  take of the prequels.  I would recommend you take a look at them, the writing style is quite different and more accessible than the originals.  Maybe you could read them with your favourite beverage, this week I am hoping to finish off Andy Weir's The Martian , while sipping on a tea called ' Ginger Iron Goddess '.  I bought it for the name alone, but it is surprisingly good, its an oolong and ginger mix. The big news this week... we had to add an additional 'leap second' onto our clocks and it broke the internet. Did you notice it?  Nah, neither did I, but because I work in the I.T field I had to sit through the hysteria. Anyway, here is my offering of Random Articles across the Web for the weekend.  Enjoy reading through them with you favourite beverage.  I'm attending a 'Princess Dinosaur' party tomorrow morning so my caffeine intake will be hurried and large in order to get everything ready before all the 3 year olds arrive.  Have a good one!
