Random Articles RAW 151128

I received some good news this week, Stephen Hunt, author of one of my favourite series the ' Jackelian ' series has released a new book in his ' Sliding Void ' Sci-Fi series.    Anomalous Thrus t (Sliding Void #4) has now hit the bookshops!  I was sent an A.RC. so hope to have it finished and have a review up soon. Anomalous Thrus t is the 4th book in Sliding Void series. It's a completely stand-alone adventure, not directly linked to the first three books (although Anomalous Thrust is set chronologically a year after the end of the previous books). It's also full novel-sized, rather than novella-sized.  Even though it's a stand-alone adventure you may wish to start at the beginning,  Sliding Void #1 is currently free for download from...   Kindle USA , Kindle UK , Kobo , Smashwords   Thanksgiving Is a Taste of Home  Someone Animated These Old Book Covers , And They Look Amazing Workers strike over plans to turn librari...

One of my pet hates since the release of the Star Wars prequels is the way Darth Vader's image has been downgraded from evil, menacing and intimidating, to goofy, misguided and misunderstood.  However it looks like a newly released graphic novel, Vader Down , is restoring his reputation.  Maybe you want to grab it, or your favourite novel, and enjoy some reading this weekend.  Don't forget to have your favourite beverage at hand.  This blend looks interesting... Space Scout by S.A. Pavli | Quick Look

Space Scout  by S.A. Pavli A catastrophic failure of the Space Exploration Service Starship Lisa Jane maroons it's Captain Paul Constantine on an uninhabited planet. Resigned to spending the rest of his days as a latter day Robinson Crusoe, the Captain is shocked to find the remains of uninhabited alien exploration base on the planet. This soon becomes a desperate fight for survival for the Captain, but also an exhilarating journey, full of adventure and new discoveries. Quick look: There are three things that prompt me to purchase a book (maybe four). The initial three are Cover, Blurb and Price . Space Scout kept coming up on my Kindle recommendations , and a quick glance at the cover (small and black and white) gave me the initial impression that this book was some titillating space porn, Strike one.  Thinking my new Kindle was similar to the Kobo app and I could mark this title as ' not interested ' so as to remove from the  recommendations ...
