Superhero Series | The Amazing Spiderman

[Christian devotion] Spider-Man is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes. He is Marvel Comics mascot and appears everywhere, from newspaper comic strips, TV shows and on the big screen. He will even be turning up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, alongside The Avengers later this year in Captain America: Civil War . Even those who have only a passing knowledge of Spiderman would be familiar with his catchphrase " With great power there must also come great responsibility " -- a line included in a text box in the final panel of the first Spider-Man story but later retroactively attributed to his guardian, the late Uncle Ben.

This week seemed to be a bit of a slow in terms of book news, I may have to check my feedly news feed to see if something's gone wrong. However there are other articles of interest like the news of a Star Trek-like toy maker, a theory as to why a fierce Viking was indestructible and Vexillology.  So sit back with your favourite beverage and enjoy a good read this weekend.

Anomalous Thrust | Sliding Void Series by Stephen Hunt | Quicklooks

Anomalous Thrust is the 4th book in the Sliding Void series and like most of Stephen Hunt's novels I found it to be an easy and enjoyable read. There wasn't any plot points which distracted me from the narrative, which make it difficult to review.  I read it, and had fun doing so.

Wolfbooks may get a commission. “I’M TOO BUSY!” We’ve all heard it. We’ve all said it. All too often, busyness gets the best of us and overcoming this is what this book looks at.  Like it or not our society often judges us and ranks us according to our busyness. Although we complain about being busy, we also find that it validates us.  We somehow assume that our value is connected to our busyness. If you think about if for a moment you will realise we actually feel guilty when we have ' nothing ' to do.... so what do we do, we take out our phones or electronic devices and check email, twitter, facebook et...

Welcome to the weekend.  The highlight for me this week was the first article  The Secret World of Membership Libraries . In the back of my mind I knew they used to exist but didn't realise they were still around.  After reading this article I spent then next few days daydreaming about the mercantile library in cincinnati. Unfortunately I was unable to find out if anything like this was available in Australia, apart from university libraries.  If you are aware of any in Australia let me know.   Enjoy with your favourite beverage.
