New Star Trek Movies Controversy Explained | Kelvin Timeline | Ask Wolf

Because I like reading and watching Science Fiction and Fantasy related novels and films I often get asked questions about these topics so I thought that I would try to answer some of these frequently asked questions in this new series Ask Wolf .  I was so temped to call it Werewolf, or Unraveling the Gordian Knot, but I guess these are 'in-jokes' which most people couldn't relate to.  Anyway I'm here to help and I'll try to answer any questions related to my interests. To kick off the series, I'm explaining the controversy over the new Star Trek movies. As in what's going on with this new Star Trek Movies reboot? Why don't things happen the way it did in the The Original Series?  Sit back with your favourite beverage and enjoy this quick look at: New Star Trek Movies Controversy Explained | Kelvin Timeline

Treasures from the Bookshelf | Shakespeare

I'd like to take the time to say thanks to all those you've been watching my Treasures from the Bookshelf series. It's really good to hear that people who aren't usually interested in Science Fiction have been watching and commenting that these videos have sparked an interest in Sci-Fi! Isn't that great! To show that I'm interested in topics other than Sci-Fi, I've created this video about my Shakespeare experience.  Hope you enjoy it. Two more treasures from my bookshelf, this time classical literature, William Shakespeare and how you really should experience Shakespeare in order to enjoy him. Liked what you read? Random Articles - RAW 160916

Welcome, have you ever heard about whale math ?  I was thinking big aquatic mammals when I saw the article and wondered what it had to do with books. Well now you can find out.  Also we look at leisure and moving objects with sound!  Pretty awesome.  Sit back with your favourite beverage and enjoy some weekend reading.

Up and Coming Reads | A Wolf at the Gate by Mark Van Steenwyk

This book was listed in the Science Fiction & Fantasy section for Teen & Young Adult.  But it was the cover that caught my attention and the rest of the book is illustrated similarly.  It's a retelling of the story of St. Francis and the Wolf of Gubbio from the wolf's perspective. It's getting a lot of interest and is a Nominee for 2015 INDIEFAB Book of the Year, Juvenile Fiction.  A book to be enjoyed with a hot chocolate before bed.

Treasures from the Bookshelf | Century Rain by Alastair Reynolds

Proving that Science Fiction is not boring and can hold it's own against others genres. In this video I take a quick look at Century Rain by Alastair Reynolds. A Hard Science Fiction novel about Quantum mechanics, romance and other things... Click on the link or image below to view the video. Star Trek is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary this week.  If you want to see how close we are to the Star Trek future I would encourage you to grab a copy of Trekonomics . I purchased the audio version from Audible.com and really enjoyed listening to it.  Enjoy it with a Klingon  Raktajino .

Up and Coming Reads | The Celaran Refuge by Michael McCloskey

The Parker Interstellar Travels Series (PIT) continues with The Celaran Refuge. These books are big on action and relatively quick paced. Each book is written with a cliff hanger ending and the plans and adventures build on the former ones which means that you can't start at any book. I would recommend that you read them as a whole starting at book one, The Trilisk Ruins  (It's free to download*)

As I say in the video If you want to feel intelligent read Julian May's Rampart Worlds series.  Click on the link or picture below to view the video.  If you're interested and want to get the books use the links below.
